Writers out there: do you fret over which point of view is best for your novel, short story, or nonfiction piece? Do you know the ins and outs of first person and third person? Second person? First person peripheral? First person plural?

Readers: do you feel more at home when someone tells a story in third person? Do you sometimes feel distanced from a story told by “I?” Maybe this article isn’t the place to start if all this is new to you, but it will get you going, and I think it’ll help open up reading in a way that will help you enjoy your reading more.
